Aces and Eights Home Poker Game

Perth, Western Australia

A friendly Texas Hold'em home game hosted by Steve and Barbara.

This site is to help home game players with little or no experience and provide useful information for the beginner.  However, it is assumed the reader has very basic knowledge, such as poker hand rankings and how Draw Poker (the type we all played around the kitchen table for matchsticks as kids) is played.

There are also some links to poker sites that can provide more advanced information.

The main thing to remember is 'Poker should be fun'.  The best way to learn the game is to play.  Even if you have never played before, a home game is a great way to start.

I have put the home game together in a way that will make the playing field as level as possible - anyone can win if they get right cards, but at the same time there is enough room that skillful play will pay off for those with a little more experience.  Above all, the tournament structure should mean and exciting game everyone.

See you aross the felt!
