It was the first time ever for some, but even so the standard of play was solid.  Ian picked up a good chip lead early on with agressive betting pre and post flop.

Anita took down a convincing victory over the field of eight in a head to head showdown with Phil.

With the blinds at 500/1000 Anita has 16,000 in chips and Phil 14,000.  Anita in the SB with A 9 calls.  Phil with K J min raises it up to 2,000 to go and Anita calls.

The flop came A K 4, two hearts, neither player had hearts.  Phil leads out with a bet of 2,000.  Anita calls.

The turn is 9 diamonds.  Phil leads out for another 2,000.  Anita calls.

Q diamonds is the river.  Faced with three cold calls (Danger! Danger!) Phil takes a while to consider his options, decides his kings are good and pushed all-in.  What where you thinking Phil!  Anita calls and takes down the hand and the tournament with top pair.

Well played everyone.

Ready to go!

Steve and I wonder where our chips went.  They seem to have all slid
down the other end of the table.

The stare down from Ian.  Now if only we were in a hand.

I'll have that chip if no one's looking.  Uh oh, Ian misses nothing.

Phil checks his straight flush draw is still there.

Anita 'I've never played before, honest'
counts her chip leaders stack.

Anita and Phil head to head as Anita prepares the trap.

The final hand.  Phil finds his second pair KK, no good to Anita's top pair
of aces.

The winning Hand, A 9.  Well played Anita.
